01 / Identity

Who is Gavin Ryan?

Not a normal portfolio. This is a long-term record of what I’m learning, building, maintaining, and becoming.

My name is Gavin Ryan. I’m an FAA Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic currently working full-time nights as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician at PSA Airlines. Outside of aviation, I build software that solves real problems — especially where maintenance education, technical workflows, and better systems meet.

02 / Systems in motion

Aviation, software, school, and the long game.

My work is split between maintaining aircraft, building MxPrep, growing Ryan Software Development, and continuing my education.

Useful things I’m building, improving, or planning.

Some projects are public-facing. Some are internal tools. The common theme is simple: find a real problem, build a better system, and keep improving it.

Future

Long-term direction

  • Commission as an Army Officer through ROTC after earning my bachelor’s degree.
  • Continue into graduate school.
  • Build multiple software companies around real technical problems.
  • Grow MxPrep into the leading FAA A&P study platform.
05 / Operating principles

Simple standards I try to build around.

Not slogans. Just a practical direction for work, school, software, aircraft, and life.

Principle 01

Build useful things.

Software should make work clearer, faster, or easier to understand.

Principle 02

Keep learning.

Aircraft, code, leadership, school — everything improves with consistent work.

Principle 03

Help people.

The best tools are built close to the people who actually need them.

Principle 04

Leave it better.

Every project, system, and environment should be better after I touch it.
